Evelien Hack

Evelien Hack is acting Teamlead of the Strategy & Innovation Team at Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education. She has over fifteen years of experience in international higher education, with a strong focus on strategic policy development, student mobility, and stakeholder engagement.
Throughout her career, Evelien has held various roles, including Senior Policy Officer and Programme Manager, where she led initiatives on inclusive mobility, capacity building, and international cooperation. Her work bridges policy and practice, with a particular emphasis on creating future-proof strategies for internationalisation.
Evelien has been actively involved with the EAIE for many year; serving as a member of the EAIE Expert Community Health and Welfare, as well as the General Council and at the moment as the chair for the Conference Programme Committee. She regularly speaks and moderates at international conferences, sharing insights on internationalization, leadership, and strategic development in education.
Known for her collaborative and thoughtful leadership style, Evelien is passionate about empowering professionals and fostering meaningful international partnerships that contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable education sector.

Loes Diricks

KU Leuven, Belgium

Loes Diricks has worked in internationalisation for nearly 15 years. She currently works as a policy advisor on services for international students for the International Office of the Faculty of Economics and Business of KU Leuven (Belgium). Recently, she conducted extensive research into the wants and needs of international students through face-to-face interviews and mapping out their challenges. The Faculty of Economics and Business of the KU Leuven receives
over 1500 new international students (bachelor, master and exchange) every year and uses this research to reassess their service level for international students.

Dana DAngelo

Drexel University, USA

With over thirty years in higher education and organizational consulting experience, Dana D’Angelo is a Drexel University LeBow College of Business Clinical Professor committed to continued personal and professional development in teaching, research, and service. Using an open-minded teaching and learning approach, Dana stresses the importance of global awareness and international experience; personal, team and leadership development; creative thinking, and experiential education, in all her classes and programs. She teaches all levels of students both face-to-face and online, with a particular focus on first year student success. She has expertise in international virtual exchange classrooms (nearly 100 collaborative projects) and faculty-led intensive courses abroad (over 35 programs) with partners and locations around the world. Dana’s work with education abroad and global engagement faculty development has had international exposure. Her research is focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning and supports both her own and others’ drives for excellence in the field. She has numerous publications and annually presents her work at professional conferences. Her university service is on student-centered committees and initiatives. Dana is a licensed CPA and CMA, as well as a certified trainer in Ennea International Five Lens Development Tool. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award, the Hornum Award for Teaching Excellence, and the Provost’s Award for Innovation, and she was a Visiting Lecturer at University of Leeds (UK). Her prior roles have included Director (Department Head) of General Business Studies, Associate Director of the Center for Academic Excellence, and Fellow in the Center for Teaching and Learning. Dana additionally has sat on the advisory boards of several professional and community organizations, as well as review committees for professional journals and conferences.

Maaike van Gerven

Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands

Maaike van Gerven is the International Partnerships Officer at the International Office of Erasmus University Rotterdam. With over 15 years of experience in the internationalisation of higher education, her career is dedicated to promoting international collaboration and supporting students and staff during their international experience. In her current role as international partnerships officer at EUR, she works closely with international partners to develop sustainable and fruitful collaborations. She is experienced in evaluating partnerships, to assess collaboration effectiveness and to identify areas for improvement. Furthermore, she works on conducting comprehensive risk assessments for all new and existing international partnerships, identifying potential legal, financial, and operational risks. She is part of the EUR international crisis team and is currently working on a crisis communication protocol, ensuring clear and consistent communication to all stakeholders during emergencies.
