Bringing together voices from higher education, further education and Medr, the UK’s first cross-tertiary funder and regulator, this session will explore how Wales is positioning itself internationally through a more joined-up, system-wide approach. Presenters will reflect on shared priorities, emerging opportunities and the evolving global role of Welsh institutions. Medr will also introduce its new Global Outlook Roadmap, outlining strategic objectives to support international partnership and mobility in a changing international context.
Kelly Edwards is Director of Partnerships and Strategic Development at ColegauCymru/CollegesWales, the representative body for the further education sector in Wales. She has worked in education for over 25 years across a variety of roles in secondary education, higher education, adult and community learning as well as work-based learning. She completed her MA in Post-Compulsory Education and Training in 2011. Kelly joined ColegauCymru in 2019 and has responsibility for the implementation of policy into practice; and for evidence-informed policy development through strategic engagement across colleges. Kelly is a Board member at the Education Workforce Council for Wales.
