Rachael Fahrenbach

Rachael Fahrenbach is the Director of International Programs in Oregon State University’s College of Forestry In this role, she forges research for faculty, new mobility partnerships for students , and secures grants that broaden access for the college. Rachael's office also supports J-visa processing for the college, welcoming a large host of visiting scholars, interns, and delegations. Rachael advises College of Forestry students to study abroad on four different exchange partnerships, eight unique short-term programs, and a diverse portfolio of international internships. Active in professional service, Rachael represents Education Abroad for NAFSA: Association of International Educators for Region I. Her commitment to inclusion extends to volunteer work with USAHello and the Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center, where she presents GED courses and workforce‑readiness workshops for new arrivals to the United States.  She is a graduate of University of Oregon in Latin American Studies, Spanish, and Second Language and Acquisition as well as holding a Masters in International Relations from Universita Cattolica di Sacro Cuore, Milan Italy.

Joanna Tan

Oregon State University, USA

Joanna Tan currently serves as the Admissions Coordinator within the College of Forestry at Oregon State University. She received her BA from University of Oregon with focus areas in social and political science, and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in College Student Services Administration at OSU. 

Joanna’s early work as a success coach with Americorps’ College Possible program contributed to her understanding of the barriers students face in pursuit of higher education. These experiences inform her approach to supporting students and families as they navigate the application, admission, and enrollment process at a large R1 institution. She also leads a talented group of undergraduate student ambassadors, increasing engagement opportunities for prospective and current students and guiding her team in their own professional development. 

As an emerging leader in higher education recruitment and student services, she is deeply committed to establishing and improving pathways for students. Joanna is regularly engaged with internal and external partners to build relationships, identify and address systemic barriers, and ultimately increase access to transformative educational experiences.
