Can European university alliances thrive without EU funding? The Euroleague for Life Sciences has done so for 25 years. UP University, founded in 2021, continues this tradition. This session will explore how both alliances build long-term impact. By comparing two different generations of alliances, we will provide insights into governance, commitment and strategies that make European cooperation sustainable by design, beyond project cycles and political frameworks.
