What is the added value of green travel in student mobility? How can this experience better equip future graduates to enter the labour market and apply their transversal competencies? The green mobility revolution is linking sustainable travel with employability, thanks to the overlap between the skills and attitudes developed through slow travel and those most sought after by employers. Universities should ensure access to this form of mobility and provide a framework to recognise the skills.
Ana Castro Paiva is an ICM Project Manager at the International Office of the University of Porto, Portugal. She has also been increasingly involved in projects to raise awareness about sustainability in Erasmus +. Previously she managed multiregional Erasmus Mundus partnerships, was involved in writing the application for Erasmus4All an E+ project coordinated by UPorto on inclusion. She has a background in Communication, International Relations and Education, lived in 5 different countries, was an Erasmus student in Spain and in Italy and did traineeships at the World Bank (US) and the EC - DG DEVCO (Belgium).
In 2022 she presented an ignite session at EAIE in Barcelona on "How to Carbon Hack E+".
