He has been at Stanford; first to Vascular Surgery, 2015 and last year at Biodesign, Jan. 2024 to April 2024.
He got a MSc Engineering Physics, and then a PhD Mathematics in potential theory, Uppsala University, 1996. Three postdocs: 1997 Cambridge, UK; 1997-1999, SUNY, Stony Brook, NY; 1999-2000, Institut Mittag-Leffler. He made a switch 2010 to mathematical biology.

Research interest in morphology, evolution, artificial life, speciation, game theory, population dynamics, cancer treatment, and general modeling. Furthermore, he has lately been engaged in problem focused research related to surgery, and in particular, vascular surgery, as in compression therapy. Some of these need-based projects has led to solutions that in turn has been transformed into innovations and a few of these to start-ups. One of these start-ups made an "exit" a year ago – giving Lundh invaluable experience in the whole life cycles of research based medtech innovations. Regarding the pandemic interest, that started as a support activity to the Sahlgrenska University Hospital but has now led to several research projects and Chalmers’ Impact Prize.
