Various European University Alliances are aiming to foster global outreach programmes with non-European Union partners. This session will zoom in on the best practices and challenges encountered, including legal, financial and practical aspects. Selma Porobić, PhD, is the Aurora Alliance Institutional Coordinator and Head of Aurora office at Palacky University in Olomouc (UP). She has been involved in EUI since 2018, advising UP leadership on EU's higher education policy and managing the EUIs programmes. She heads the Aurora Capacity Development Programme for Central-Eastern Europe and Aurora Karazin University Peace Education Hub in Ukraine. She is also a chair of 'Non-EU partnerships' ForEU 2 working group.Universidade da Beira Interior, Portugal
Francisco do Adro has a PhD in management from the University of Beira Interior - UBI (Portugal). He is currently coordinator of the UNITA office at UBI since October 2020 and member of the management committee of the alliance. He is an active member of the GEMINAE working group (UNITA non-European Romance language partners) as well as the Cooperation with non-EU partners FOREU2 subgroup since their respective creation in 2021. He has also been part of the coordination of FOR.EU.PT (Forum of Portuguese Higher Education Institutions in alliances of European Universities) since its creation in 2023. He previously worked in the private, public and social sectors in Spain, France and recently in Portugal where he worked, for 11 years, as executive administrator of an important non-profit organization with a hundred employees. He has also held local public positions and has been on the board of several associations since 1995.
