Global mobility creates real‑time obligations of care. This session will translate ISO 31030 into practical steps for international offices and crisis teams. Through a short simulation and rapid debrief, you will map roles, escalation paths and controls before, during and after travel, and you will leave with a lightweight checklist you can adapt to your own institution.
Martin Hochreiter is Teamlead of IT Systems and Support at USTP - University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten in Austria, where he is responsible for IT infrastructure, security, and service delivery across the institution. With extensive experience in higher education IT and crisis management, his expertise lies in digital security, duty of care, and the development of resilient systems and processes for international mobility.
Alongside his operational role, Martin is actively involved in shaping institutional approaches to travel risk management and student safety. He contributes to strategic initiatives and projects focused on compliance, emergency preparedness, and internationalisation in higher education. His work bridges technical implementation with policy development, ensuring that institutions can effectively safeguard staff and students travelling abroad.
In addition to his role at St. Pölten, Martin lectures in crisis management at Hochschule Campus Wien, sharing practical insights from his professional experience. He regularly collaborates with international partners and peers, contributing to conferences and working groups that address emerging challenges in global mobility and institutional responsibility.
