This poster presents findings from a 2021 study that examined how English language proficiency affects confidence, academic stress, student support, social engagement and well-being for international students. The poster will highlight the findings from the study, as well as implications for student services teams and admissions offices to consider in their own practices.

Megan is the Global Partnerships Manager, Higher Education at the British Council, managing relationships and strategic initiatives with higher education institutions globally. She supports policy dialogue and product development in assessment, working with teams around the world to enhance the impact of international education.
With 15 years’ experience in Marketing, Business Development and Client Relations, Megan has lived and worked in the UK, India, and the Middle East and has presented at several conferences including AIEC, NAFSA, Going Global, EAIE and New Directions, on a range of topics such as English Medium Education, test validity and security, student demand and assessment technology.
Megan recently completed an MBA at the University of Liverpool and was awarded Dissertation of the Year for her research on Data-Driven Decision-Making. Currently based in Hanoi, Vietnam, Megan combines her industry expertise with fresh academic insights to support educational growth and innovation in English language assessment and partnerships.
