Fishbowl session
The post-mobility stage is crucial for both returning students and higher education institutions. It supports students’ academic reintegration, well-being and career readiness, while enhancing Internationalisation at Home, sparking interest in mobility and welcoming incoming students. However, institutions tend to overlook this stage, lacking structured support. This session will encourage peer learning and exchange of practices to address this gap and deliver impactful post-mobility support.

Alejandra has been working in international education for 20 years and is currently Head of International Mobility at Northumbria University, where she manages all aspects of international mobility programmes for students and staff, funding and partner relations.
Originally from Chile, she is passionate about internationalising higher education and based her postgraduate research on this topic in a development context. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Chile and a Master’s in international development from Northumbria.
She has been involved with the EAIE since 2014 as a session evaluator, and an EAIE mentor for the last 5 years. Alejandra was elected as Chair of the Expert Community Mobility Advising for the 2022–2024 term
