Hotels & Travel

The EAIE Spring Academy 2019 will take place at the University of Bordeaux, located at Place de la Victoire 3, 33000 Bordeaux, France. There are several flights and trains connecting Bordeaux to cities throughout Europe. Please note that a tram pass is available for all Academy participants that can be used for busses and tramway in Bordeaux.

As the EAIE is only handling Academy registrations, you are kindly requested to book your own accommodation. There are many accommodation options available within walking distance of the venue or a few minutes away by tram. We recommend searching for hotels in Bordeaux city centre, around Place de la Victoire, or along tram line B. It is best to avoid 'Le Lac' or 'Mériadeck' areas, which are located further away from the venue.

Beware of fraudulent hotel agencies

Please be aware that fraudulent hotel agencies routinely solicit our participants. As the EAIE only handles Academy registrations, there is no official EAIE Hotel Agency for this event. Beware of any sales calls.

Travel to Bordeaux

Bordeaux is well connected and easy to reach from all major European cities. If you are arriving by plane, the Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport is the international airport of the city. If travelling by train, you can reach the city via the Saint-Jean railway station.

Free tram pass

The EAIE has an agreement with Bordeaux Métropôle to provide a tram pass to all Academy participants. The pass is available from 08–12 April and it can be used for busses and tramway in Bordeaux. The pass will be given to you when you pick up your badge from the on-site Registration desk.

Please note that every time you use a route on the network, you must validate your ticket, even if you are just changing services. Information about tram routes and timetables can be found on this website.
