Hotels & Travel

The EAIE Autumn Academy 2020 will take place at the University of Alicante, located at San Vicente del Raspeig in Alicante, Spain. The city has an international airport with regular flights to and from major European cities and is well connected by train to many European locations.

Alicante is a port city on the Costa Blanca in Spain. A historic Mediterranean port, it enjoys some of the warmest winter temperatures in mainland Europe. The city offers a Mediterranean mix of relaxation, sightseeing and action. The city's major sites, such as Santa Barbara Castle, museums and beach are all within easy walking distance, making it accessible and easy to explore.

There is a wide choice of accommodation available within walking distance of the University of Alicante campus. The EAIE kindly asks that you arrange your own accommodation bookings.

We recommend staying in an area close to the venue. Alternatively, areas close to tram line number 2 are easily accessible to the venue.

Beware of fraudulent hotel agencies

Please be aware that fraudulent hotel agencies routinely solicit our participants. The EAIE only handles Academy registrations and there is no official EAIE hotel agency for this event. Beware of any sales calls.

Whether you are travelling to Alicante by plane or train, the city is well-connected to many European cities. The nearest airport is Elche- Alicante International Airport, 10 km east of the city. Many airlines currently fly into Alicante. Please visit the AENA site for more information.

There is also a central train station with a high-speed train route (AVE) that connects Alicante to Madrid in a little over two hours. Please visit the Spanish railway website, Renfe, for more information on train connections.
