*Lower-income country: If you are working in a country classified as a ‘low-income economy’ or ‘lower-middle-income economy’ by the World Bank, you qualify for a reduced academy rate. This rate is applied automatically upon registration.

All payments made to the EAIE must be in EUR (€). Payment is only possible online by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and JCB) and some Maestro cards. On-site payment will not be possible.

Special discounts: are you an Academy Alumni or living in Hungary?

A special rate is offered to those who are an EAIE Academy Alumni. Please note that the 30% Academy Alumni discount will be added automatically when you register for your second EAIE Academy. Participants living in the host country also receive a discount valid until the early-bird registration deadline (this will automatically be added when you register), for more information please contact the EAIE Office. Please not that these discounts cannot be used in combination with one another.

EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Hungary. Visitors from non-EU countries may require a visa and must posess a passport valid for at least 3 months. Please check the official Hungarian Consular Services website for more information. The EAIE will issue visa invitation letters to participants from countries requiring a visa to enter Hungary, but only upon receipt of full payment of the registration fee. Please note that we do not give any further support to the visa application process. Obtaining a visa remains the sole responsibility of the participant. Regular cancellation deadlines apply, regardless of whether your visa was granted or not.

EU staff mobility

Professionals working in higher education can apply for EU staff mobility grants to take part in the EAIE Academy. We advise you to inquire about funding options within the relevant body at your institution at an early stage in order to find out if you are eligible.


The following information outlines the cancellation policy for the EAIE Academy as stated in the official EAIE Terms and Conditions.

Refunds due to participant cancellation will be processed after the event. Please refer to the general EAIE Terms and Conditions for more information.

Please note that no exception will be made in the event that your visa application is declined. Obtaining a visa and all the associated costs is the sole responsibility of the participant. The EAIE cannot assist in the visa application process other than in the issue of a letter of ‘invitation to attend’. The letter of invitation is only issued once full payment has been received.

Cancellation by the EAIE

If a course does not receive a sufficient number of participants, we may be forced to cancel the course. We will do this no later than 11 October, and all registered participants will receive a full refund of any registration fees paid. We cannot be held liable for any costs you might have incurred in the interim (eg flight tickets).
