Visas

EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Germany. Visitors from non-EU countries may require a visa and must possess a passport valid for at least three months.

Visa applications

Please see the exact visa requirements for your own situation. Participants requiring a visa must submit applications, along with all necessary documents, in person at the German mission responsible for their place of residence. Visa application forms can be obtained from the mission, free of charge (in the local language). A limited selection is also available to download from their website. Missions require between two and 10 working days to decide upon an application for a short stay visa, however during peak travel season there may be a waiting period. Anyone requiring a visa wishing to travel to Germany is advised to submit his or her application in good time. Information on visa fees can be found here.

The EAIE will issue visa invitation letters to participants from countries requiring a visa to enter Germany, but only upon full payment of the Spotlight Seminar registration fee. To request your visa letter, kindly contact the EAIE Office by e-mail. Please note that costs may apply.

The EAIE does not give any further support to the visa application process. Obtaining a visa remains the sole responsibility of the participant. Regular cancellation deadlines apply, regardless of whether your visa was granted or not.
