Session 10.03

Politics and education: when the ground disappears under your feet

  • Friday 14 Sept
    10:30-11:30
  • Room L, Level 1, Palexpo
  • Level: all
  • Related Expert Communities Strategy and Management

Universities walk a tightrope: they have no fixed ideology, yet tend to be progressive; they can’t exist without a national framework, yet increasingly operate with an international mission. Recent political change in Turkey and Hungary prove that the liberal context that supports international universities can disappear unexpectedly, changing the lives of university staff rapidly. The session will present how administrative staff can cope with these challenges and get help from their community.
