Guidance and Counselling presents: Psychological skills that facilitate intercultural adjustment

Multiple perspective-taking, mentalisation and mindful emotion regulation have been identified as crucial psychological skills enabling international sojourners to master key challenges associated with intercultural encounters: managing acculturation stress, developing trusting relations and bonding successfully with others. This session will explore what these skills are, why they facilitate cross-cultural adjustment and competence development, and how they can be assessed and promoted.
