Session 05.02

The EAIE debate: ‘English on campus is a threat to national identity’

At many universities where the native language is not English, there is an increase in the use of English as a medium of instruction and as a means of communication among staff. Will the English language replace the national language? Could the use of English negatively affect staff members, the quality of education, or the enrolment of local students? Join this potentially explosive debate, where one the most topical and sensitive issues in international higher education will be discussed.
