Session 09.03

Religion, culture and study abroad in the Global South

Religion is not often part of the discussion at international education conferences, yet it is a vital part of life for many and undoubtedly one of the cultural differences European students studying abroad, especially in the more-devout Global South, will encounter most tangibly. This session will discuss how to prepare students – who take with them their own set of beliefs and faith traditions – for dealing with different attitudes towards religion and its place in the public square.
