Session 05.12

From MOOCs to more: recognition and access to higher education

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) and small private online courses (SPOCs) can widen access to education, especially for socially excluded groups such as refugees. This session will use group work to present new guidelines from the ENIC-NARIC networks on how to evaluate these online learning experiences to capitalise on this opportunity, illustrated by examples from KIRON of how recognition of MOOCs can lead to exemption and enrolment into 'regular' higher education programmes.
