International joint study programmes are the pinnacle of educational cooperation, and EU and intergovernmental funding schemes have been boosting their development for more than a decade. But how can academics develop study programmes with partners assigned at the institutional level? This session will provide examples of institutional strategic partnerships, as well as bottom-up cooperation leading to joint study programmes, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches.
