About this session

The ‘development university’, whose mission is the development of society, is a distinct type of institution, different from the ‘world-class university’ model. Using case studies of the University of Central Asia and of South African and European universities with a distinct development agenda, this session will provide comparisons that will help to illuminate the specifics of this type of institution.
