EU project MIMI

As part of the EU project Modernisation of Institutional Management of Internationalisation in South Neighbouring Countries (MIMI), the EAIE is supporting the development of an Internationalisation Management Model in Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco, and facilitating the set-up of an Arab Network for Internationalisation (ANI).

Context

The aim of this project is to assess the degree of internationalisation in participating universities in the Southern Neighbouring Area, followed by the development of an Internationalisation Management Model. Implementation will occur through capacity building activities and improvements in infrastructure and governance processes. The project consortium consists of higher education institutions and public authorities in Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco and nine European partners and is coordinated by the University of Barcelona.

Project goals and activities include:

  • Assessment of internationalisation in participating universities in Southern Neighbourhood Area
  • Development of internationalisation management processes in participating institutions
  • Increased knowledge and skills provision on  internationalisation
  • Improved governance procedures and quality assurance procedures
  • Increased knowledge and skills provision on the use of virtual tools to enhance internationalisation
  • Comparative analysis and report assessing the degree of internationalisation in participating universities
  • Development of an Internationalisation Management Model (IMM)
  • Development of capacity building activities to support the implementation and sustainability of the IMM (including the use of a virtual tool)
  • Set-up of the Arab Network for Internationalisation (ANI)
