Tom Hayes

My name is Tom Hayes and I have been active in the marketing of higher education for 30 years. I founded the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education thirty years ago and have spoken at every event. I have been editor for 20 years of the Journal of Marketing for Higher Education and Associate Editor for seven years. I have written two books on the topic, given over 250 presentations or keynote speeches and served on boards of AMA and CASE. Within CASE, I have received two of their highest awards, the Alice Beeman award for contributions to the field and the Crystal Apple award for excellence in speaking. I have presented seminars in two EAIE Academies (Budapest and Venice) with very positive evaluations. I am currently the Dean of the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. Previously at Xavier, I served as the institution's first Director of Institutional Advancement (Marketing). I am passionate about the subject, stay abreast of developments in the field internationally and would be honoured to bring that passion and knowledge to the Steering group of the EAIE’s Expert Community Marketing and Recruitment.
