King’s College London, United Kingdom
Stephanie Griffiths

My name is Stephanie Griffiths. I am currently Associate Director for Counselling and Mental Health Support at King’s College London, having previously been Head of Counselling. I am shortly retiring from the university, after 34 years, and setting up my own intercultural consultancy for higher education institutions, with a focus on the internationalisation of students.

I manage a multidisciplinary team providing students with psychological support for their mental health difficulties, as well as engaging in preventative work around mental well-being and providing training for staff on how to support students. Working with a community of approximately 40% international students, I have considerable experience in the unique concerns and stressors of this group and have developed and run several training programmes – I am a trainer for the EAIE Academy, most recently online.

I have been involved in the Guidance and Counselling Expert Community since 2016 and believe that my extensive knowledge in the field, particularly in promoting cross-cultural dialogue and interaction, will enable me to continue leading the steering group as Chair. I am a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and recipient of King’s College London’s Principal’s Award for excellent and long-standing work in the field of mental health.
