My name is Stephanie Griffiths and I have been working in the Counselling Service at King’s College London for the past thirty years. For the past five years I have been Head of Counselling, leading a large team of Counselling Psychologists, Psychodynamic Psychotherapists/Counsellors, Group Analysts, Mental Health Advisors and a Consultant Psychiatrist. The team is shortly to expand further, with my responsibility widening to include mental health support across the university, with the new job title ‘Associate Director (Counselling and Mental Health Support)’. I am a member of the British Psychological Society and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, as well as being a Mental Health First Aid trainer for my institution.  I am particularly interested in intercultural counselling and have delivered training programmes at the EAIE Academy for the past two years on ‘The principles of addressing personal concerns and crises amongst international students’. I believe my awareness of and interest in the unique problems encountered by international students can support EAIE members working in the field of intercultural education, giving them insight from an institutional as well as psychological perspective.  I would be delighted to serve as Steering group member of the Expert Community Guidance and Counselling.
