Stephanie Griffiths

My name is Stephanie Griffiths. I have been Associate Director for Counselling and Mental Health Support at King’s College London for the past two years, having previously been Head of Counselling. I manage a team of psychologists, psychotherapists, mental health advisers and a consultant psychiatrist. We provide students with psychological support for their mental health difficulties, as well as carrying out preventative work around mental well-being and training for staff on how to support students. With a community of approximately 40% international students, I have considerable experience in the unique concerns and stressors of this group and have developed and run several training programmes – I am currently a trainer for the EAIE Academy. I have been involved in the EAIE Guidance and Counselling Expert Community since 2016 and believe that my extensive knowledge in the field, particularly in promoting cross-cultural dialogue and interaction, will enable me to lead the Steering group as Chair. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, I serve on the board of the China-UK University Counselling Association and I am the recipient of King’s College London’s Principal’s Award for “excellent and long-standing work in the field of mental health”.
