Through my candidacy I intend to keep offering my 30 years of experience in the internationalisation of higher education to the EAIE community.

One of my main goals for the next mandate as Chair of the European Collaborative Programmes Expert Community will be to strengthen the identity of the community by facilitating the involvement of a higher number of experts and practitioners in future activities.

I intend to address the most recent EU overarching priorities in the field of higher education – digitalisation, environmental sustainability and inclusiveness – and promote their inclusion in both EU-funded projects and joint programmes.

The post-COVID scenario calls for new approaches in joint programmes, requiring innovative solutions. I have recently been involved in studies tackling these aspects and I intend to make the best use of the EAIE platform to disseminate and exploit these results.

Another key focus area for the upcoming term will be to promote enhanced synergies between EU, international and national funding tools for both education and research.

The full roll-out of the European Universities Initiative is approaching and it is my intention for the Expert Community to closely monitor these developments and identify trends and transferable solutions.
