Mihai Sebea

My name is Mihai Sebea and I am Vice-Rector for International Affairs at the Romanian-American University (RAU) in Bucharest, Romania. I have been working in internationalisation since 2004 and my plan was to promote comprehensive internationalisation for RAU, which I believe has been achieved. In such a context, I realised the importance of Internationalisation at Home, which I also promoted through an ambitious project launched in 2014. I have also chaired sessions and given presentations on internationalisation for several events, including NAFSA and EAIE Conferences. Since 2016, I have been volunteering for the new strategic internationalisation project of the National Council of Rectors - Romania, dedicated to promoting ‘Study in Romania’ and strong cooperation between Romanian universities. I like to do things for others, including for RAU fellows, for colleagues at other Romanian universities, and also for peers from worldwide universities. This is why I have been working (informally) with the EAIE’s Internationalisation at Home Expert Community for almost a year. I have been able to bring a view from Eastern Europe to these discussions and I’m sure I can make a significant contribution to advancing Internationalisation at Home further within the EAIE, should I be elected as a member of the Steering group.
