Michael Bartlett

Vietnam Australia International Schools Group, Vietnam
Michael Bartlett

My name is Michael Bartlett and I am Chief Executive of Vietnam Australia International School, the largest international schools group in Vietnam, with seven campuses and almost 10,000 students of which 70% further their studies overseas. I've spent my career in the international education space, initially as a teacher in the Czech Republic, Germany and Ukraine, and later in management positions in the UK, Italy and the United Arab Emirates. For the last 16 years, I've been based in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City) in a variety of commercial roles in higher education. I’ve worked in transnational education as Regional Director for a British QAA-recognised awarding body, in global marketing and student recruitment roles for HE Pathways, and in assessment as Director of the Global Network for Cambridge Assessment English. As a member of the EAIE General Council, I would bring energy and a fresh perspective: perhaps that of a school leaver from Asia applying to universities overseas, a parent of a K-12 student considering the benefits of a western high school education over a domestic one, or an international awarding body quality-controlling programmes delivered by third parties overseas.
