Mark Norrish

My name is Mark Norrish. I am currently the Associate Dean (International) in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Coventry University, United Kingdom. It has been a privilege for me to work in a university committed to internationalisation and the highest ranked UK university for overseas student experiences. I have been involved in setting up and coordinating institutional partnerships aimed at both transnational education as well as internationalisation at home and student mobility. Previous to this, I worked overseas in Oman for eight years where I was Head of Department of Behavioural Medicine. Within health and welfare education, it is essential that the benefits of international education are realised not just for the student but also for their eventual patients and clients.  Working internationally has provided me with a deep-rooted appreciation of both the difficulties and potential benefits that can be achieved when international and local components are woven together to benefit patients. I am excited to use my experience and networks to serve the EAIE Expert Community Health and Welfare Education. Two of the areas I would particularly like to contribute to are cross-border professional accreditation and ways to develop partnership consortia with a depth of engagements beyond student exchanges.
