Marie Heraughty

I have been involved with the EAIE since 2007. Until spring 2020 I was Chair of the Professional Development Committee, and I was previously on the Strategy and Management Steering group. I wish to bring my knowledge, experience and understanding of the EAIE to the General Council. As Chair of the Professional Development Committee for three years, I worked with committee members, the EAIE Office and expert trainers to increase the professionalisation of the EAIE’s training provision, most notably the Academies in the City, which have grown in size and reach. I have been directly involved in the quality assurance process and instructional design phase of conference workshops. As the EAIE expands, I wish to contribute actively to its development and professionalisation. Expanding a membership association requires a high level of strategic planning, trust and fiscal responsibility – all attributes I have acquired through professional experience and that I would apply to the work of the General Council. Having worked on the Erasmus+ programme and its predecessors, as well as in leadership roles in higher education, I currently work at the Irish National Agency for European Union programmes, with a specific remit for the PEACE programme.
