Karin Sulman

My name is Karin Sulmann, MBA, and I have been working as a manager in the field of internationalisation for 15 years. I am Deputy Director of the International Health Care School and Course Director of the physiotherapy programme at Hanze University Groningen in the Netherlands. The programme has 250 international and 850 Dutch students. I started the International Health Care School in 2015 to support all international activities in education and research in the connected Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. Many international projects have come out of the school: Erasmus+ projects; a Comenius Senior Fellow project called Diversity Management; development of a Mundus Master; and projects in Saudi Arabia, China, Liberia, the US, Tanzania and Japan. This has enabled me to create global awareness for thousands of students and lecturers and increase mutual understanding. I do believe in Mandela’s quote: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” From this perspective, I believe that my extensive knowledge and experience in internationalisation will add to the goals and mission of the EAIE. I can offer the General Council excellent supervisory, budgeting, communication, strategic planning, decision-making, problem-solving and organisational skills.
