Hanze University UAS, the Netherlands
Karin Sulman

My name is Karin Sulmann MBA and I have been a manager in the field of internationalisation for the last 20 years. I am Director of the International Health Care School at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands, and member of the strategic Hanze board of global affairs.

I started the International Health Care School in 2015 to support international activities in education and research in the 10 Bachelor’s and five Master’s programmes in health and welfare within Hanze. Many international projects have come out of the school: Erasmus+ projects; a Comenius Senior Fellow project on diversity management; development of a Mundus Master’s; and projects in Saudi Arabia, China, Liberia, the United States, Tanzania and Japan. This has enabled me to create global awareness for thousands of students and lecturers and increase mutual understanding.

I believe in Mandela’s quote: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” From this perspective, I believe that my extensive knowledge and experience in internationalisation and management will add to the goals and mission of the EAIE. I can offer the EAIE excellent supervisory, budgeting, communication, strategic planning, decision-making, problem-solving and organisational skills.
