Karen Gustafsson

Karolinska Institute, Sweden
Karen Gustafsson

My name is Karen Gustafsson and I am an International Project Coordinator with the Internationalisation of the Curriculum team at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. My team works to integrate internationalisation throughout the university and to internationalise the curriculum. I have been in the international field for a number of years, working on European Union projects, student mobility and related programmes, each of which has given me insight into the different perspectives of internationalisation and the importance of it. My experience at Karolinska, a medical university, gives me a good understanding of the challenges that internationalisation may pose within this area – and also the means to develop solutions to these challenges. This, I feel, makes me an asset to the Health and Welfare Education Expert Community, which provides a platform and opportunity for people working in a similar environment to collaborate on finding solutions to the challenges we meet and to create networks with colleagues from all over the world.
