HTW Dresden-University of Applied Science, Germany
Juliane Terpe

This is a job share with Andrea Wehrli

My name is Juliane Terpe. I have been working as Head of the International Office at HTW Dresden University of Applied Sciences in Germany for 10 years. In total, I have worked actively in the field of internationalisation in higher education for more than 15 years now.

My international career started in the International Office at EPF Paris and led me via the Institute of International Education in New York to the German Academic Exchange Service in Delhi, before I settled in Dresden. I am an expert in internationalisation, supporting students and teaching staff as well as university boards in all matters of international higher education.

Since 2018, I have been engaged in the EAIE Expert Community Language and Culture . I would like to add my views on the task of internationalisation to this EAIE Expert Community, since internationalisation is inextricably linked to language and culture as an important anchor. Internationalisation strategies typically support dismantling barriers in language and culture. Thus, they are two sides of the same coin. I believe that cooperation between teachers, members of language organisations and international officers can be extremely fruitful for this Expert Community.
