Jan Geerts

The Hague University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands
Jan Geerts

Since 2012 I have been responsible for setting up and professionalising the alumni relations policy of The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Being the first full-time alumni relations adviser at a Dutch university of applied sciences, I had to learn from scratch and explore the professional field of alumni relations by growing an extensive network among national and international higher education institutions across Europe and beyond.

Besides the EAIE, I am actively involved in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). I am convinced that well-maintained alumni relations can have a big impact on achieving the goals of an institution. In the case of The Hague University, that is being the most international Dutch university of applied sciences by 2020. If re-elected, I want to share his knowledge and experience to break down the internal silos at higher education institutions, to show recruiters, marketeers and international officers that a good alumni network can make their job a lot easier and more fun!
