Jan Geerts

The Hague University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands
Jan Geerts

I’ve been working for The Hague University of Applied Sciences since 2006: first in communications and then for the past eight years as the central Alumni Relations Adviser. This position was new to the university and over the years I’ve managed to develop an alumni relations strategy that increasingly benefits the institutional goals of THUAS (global citizenship, internationalisation and networking).

The international character of THUAS and the city of The Hague allows me to work in a truly diverse environment. It has made me an outgoing networker with an eye for opportunities, passionate about connecting people from different backgrounds.

I’ve been involved in the EAIE since 2015 and was also associated with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education as a speaker, conference chair and programme committee member. I hold an MA in European studies and followed additional training courses on alumni relations and fundraising.

If elected for the position of Alumni Relations Chair, I would like to work more closely with other Expert Communities and their constituencies in adjacent fields of interest and responsibilities. Whether it is about internationalisation, employability, recruitment or strategy, well-maintained alumni relations benefit us all!
