Evelien Hack

My name is Evelien Hack and I work at the Leiden University Medical Center as Advisor Internationalisation. I have been in this field of work since 2004. My first experiences were at the central university International Office, and from there I moved to the faculty level.

Internationalisation has interested me since the very first moment I was told about the possibility of going abroad as a student (which I did for six months!) until I started looking for a job. Working in this field is interesting but also gives much satisfaction. I equally enjoy preparing the contracts for new international partnerships as talking to incoming international students as well as advising outgoing students. Additionally, twice a year, I chair a meeting with internationalisation colleagues of all the medical schools in the Netherlands and Flemish Belgium.

After serving on the Expert Community Health and Welfare Education, I now enjoy being on the General Council. I hope to be re-elected for another term as I feel that I am now really understanding the organisation from this perspective and I can contribute to the discussions. I have many ideas and would like to use these to help make the EAIE even more successful.
