I am Eveke de Louw, International Policy Adviser for the Curriculum and Co-curriculum at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), the Netherlands, where I play a leading role in internationalisation. This includes developing and delivering staff training programmes, policy making, and working with academic departments and service units. In European Studies I was instrumental in the process of internationalising learning outcomes and the subsequent gaining of the distinctive quality feature for internationalisation. Moreover, I co-developed a conceptual model (Intercultureality) which has helped THUAS programmes to map internationalisation in their curricula. I am a creative global educator and intercultural enthusiast, and believe that through my combined experiences as a lecturer, coordinator and policy adviser I can represent the varied needs and interests of our community well, both for academic and support staff. My main strength is that I see opportunities and connections where others don’t, and above all I am a positive team worker. This past year I have worked with the Internationalisation at Home Expert Community as a Resource person and am keen to continue as Steering group member. My specific role has been to develop activities and events in order to develop a thriving community of practice.
