Cheryl Francisconi

My name is Cheryl Francisconi and I’m delighted to be considered for a position on the Steering group of the EAIE’s Expert Community Mobility Advising. I am currently the Head of IIE, Europe. IIE is a leading USA organisation founded nearly 100 years ago, focusing on multiple aspects of international education. I have worked for IIE for 12 years in the United States, Africa and now in Budapest, Hungary. Since coming to Europe five years ago, I have been involved in international student mobility work as the Regional Coordinator for EducationUSA, a network of advising centres supported by the U.S. Department of State. In my role, I covered 18 countries in southern and central Europe, setting up and supervising more than 45 advising centers throughout the region. I have also worked closely with European students and many European higher education institutions to help promote global higher education partnerships. I have been a member of the EAIE for the past five years but would like to become a more active contributor of my commitment, knowledge and experience in these areas. I am also a member of NAFSA and AIEA in the USA. It would be my pleasure to serve the EAIE community in this capacity.
