In April, EAIE members helped shape the future of the EAIE by casting their votes for the September 2014–2016 EAIE Leadership. The votes are now in, and we’re very pleased to announce the newly elected Vice-President, Board, General Council and Expert Community Steering groups. Read on to find out who’s been elected.
This future group of EAIE leaders will begin their term on 19 September 2014, at the 26th Annual EAIE Conference Closing Plenary in Prague.
New EAIE Vice-President
As current Vice-President, Laura Howard prepares to assume the role of President, we welcome Markus Laitinen as our new Vice-President.

Markus Laitinen is currently the Head of International Affairs at the University of Helsinki, winner of the 2013 EAIE Institutional Award for Innovation in Internationalisation. He has served the university in various roles over the past 21 years, all relating to internationalisation. The EAIE has been part of his professional life and development from the outset, having attended his first EAIE conference in London in 1994. As Vice-President and subsequently President, Markus aims to ensure that EAIE members are seen to be at the cutting edge of their profession and hopes that future generations of international exchange specialists will share his conviction that the EAIE can be a cornerstone of their professional careers.
