Session 02A

South–North power relations: why an intersectional approach to diversity is key

In collaborations between higher education institutions in the Global North and the Global South, diversity in partnership composition is instrumental in addressing and tackling implicit power dynamics. By zooming in on the results of a qualitative partner study, this session will examine how EU-funded programmes allow for partnerships to be composed across the north–south divide and how this plays into complex frameworks of imperialist paradigms and (de)colonisation strategies.
