Edited by Tim Birtwistle, ‘Legal aspects of higher education in an international context’ is a collection of papers by leading experts from six countries, each a specialist in their own field. The chapters seek to illuminate the breadth of risk and dispute activity relating to the internationalisation of higher education across the globe.

While illustrations are drawn from specific jurisdictions, as law without context is meaningless, this publication explores some of the issues that are topical across jurisdictions and addresses the more transferable elements of dispute avoidance, disputes and dispute resolution, including risk assessment, legal liability, the role of the ombudsman, prevention, mediation and insurance management.
