Stian H. Thowsen holds a degree in languages (Nordic, English and Italian) and moved into the world of internationalisation in higher education after a rewarding Erasmus exchange to Italy in 1995. He has been involved in international relations on departmental, faculty and institutional level while maintaining his pedagogical skills teaching at various schools. For the past three years he has earned his wages at the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education, the national agency in Norway, where he is responsible for the Erasmus programme. Stian intends to use his role on the MOPILE Board to focus on increased quality and quantity in student mobility and Europe as a key player in the global higher education market.
