Piet Van Hove is the head of the International Relations Office of the University of Antwerp, where he previously studied law. With 10 staff members, his office deals with front- and back-office activities relating to student and staff mobility, international internships, educational projects in developing countries, curricular co-operation projects with international partners, etc. It acts as the internal consultant within the university on all aspects of internationalisation. Piet also plays a key role in the Conference Host Committee of the 2008 Annual Conference. He feels that the EAIE in general and the IRM Professional Section in particular should stay true to their original purpose: to provide professional peer-to-peer support through high-quality and affordable training and networking opportunities as well as publications adapted to the real day-to-day needs of its members. Piet would be privileged to contribute to the further development of the EAIE along these lines in the coming years.
