Web 2.0 has been hyped up in higher education, yet few real success stories have emerged so far. How can success even be measured in the absence of established metrics? This workshop focuses on a structured learning approach, walking participants sequentially through four relevant areas: technology platforms and trends; users, usage patterns, and metrics; applicability to educational institutions; and the strategic integration of Web 2.0 tools into institutional development and outreach activities.
