More about seminars
Join leading experts and increase your knowledge of hot issues in the field. Seminars aim to expand participants' knowledge of broad themes, rather than concentrating on the improvement of skills, which is the focus of workshops.
seminar 1 The 11th EAIE/ACA seminar: Internationalisation of doctoral programmes and the global competition for talentWednesday 16 September 13.30-16.30
max participants:300
€: EUR 50
Madrid, floor 1
Income generation, status and long term economic gains have long been driving rationales for attracting international students. Recently, however, a new drive has come to the forefront: the need for highly skilled talent. In the coming years, the EU will face a reduction of people aged 16 to 29. Similar trends can be observed worldwide. Given the importance of higher education and research to drive knowledge-based economies, there is a strong concern about the potential lack of highly skilled human resources in the future. This will lead to an increasingly competitive demand for research students and scholars globally. This seminar will assess these trends using experiences from Norway, The Netherlands, France and other countries.

This platform will enable them to connect, exchange experiences and to get advice from experienced researchers within the field.
Registered participants will need to prepare a five minute poster presentation of their research interest, as a basis for discussion. To register please send an e-mail to the organisers at j.w.m.dewit@uva.nl and tony@tony-adams.org, including your motivation for participating.
