Opening Plenary Keynote: Elif Shafak

The EAIE welcomes award-winning novelist, Elif Shafak as this year’s Opening Plenary keynote speaker. Named by critics as “one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Turkish and world literature”, her books have been translated into dozens of languages and published around the world, revealing her deep interest in history, philosophy, Sufism, oral culture and cultural politics. Her ability to break down categories, clichés and cultural ghettoes is sure to stimulate thought-provoking conversation in the context of this year’s conference theme.

Closing Plenary Keynote: Jack Uldrich

Prominent global futurist and best-selling author Jack Uldrich will conclude the conference with a compelling message that will spark creativity and optimism in thinking about the future of international higher education. Hailed by BusinessWeek as ‘America’s Chief Unlearning Officer’, Jack has provocative ideas about using unlearning to seize the opportunities of tomorrow. Join us at the Closing Plenary and find out what this means for the future of higher education.
