Maite Viudes. Spain
Maite gained her international experience in public and private posts in Brussels in the late 1980’s. She returned to Barcelona in 1991 to work at the newly founded Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), where she created an international office, built global awareness of the institution, and successfully developed international recruitment channels and cooperative agreements, mostly with US universities and university organizations. Maite has been a founder and board member of the EAIE Marketing and Recruitment professional section for more than five years and is a regular presenter at international conferences NAFSA, EAIE, HACU, Compostela Group of Universities, Study Oregon and others.

After working as Director of ICEF Higher Education & Training Services for the last two years, she has just set up a new Company, Your Global Liaison (YGL), to help HE institutions with an international ambition respond to the broad changes in the years to come by stressing the importance of targeted marketing in foreign student recruitment and the need to adopt a truly global perspective and focus on student demands that are moving forward.
