History
During the 2001 EAIE conference in Porto, Thijs van Vugt of Tilburg University initiated the founding meeting of a new SIG Marketing & Recruitment (M&R). After two successful conferences in Vienna and Torino M&R was given Professional Section status at the General Meeting in Torino.
Mission statement
The Professional Section M&R aims to create a framework for professional and sustainable success in the new and rapidly growing sector of international marketing and recruitment at European Universities, with a focus on degree-seeking students. This success is characterised by offering quality education and services, from prospective student to alumnus.
Objectives
- To serve as a forum for discussion and networking
- To become a knowledge base for both international marketers and senior management at HEIs
- To share hands on experience and best practice in the field of international marketing and recruitment, aimed at the various needs of HEIs
- To establish links with similar associations in other parts of the world
- To offer and develop annual Conference Sessions aimed at the needs of its members
- To organise sessions and workshops on international marketing and recruitment at the Annual EAIE Conference.
Membership
M&R membership is available to all EAIE members who:
- Have or want to develop international Marketing & Recruitment responsibilities within HEI's
- Have overall managerial responsibilities within HEI.
- Have international marketing responsibilities at a national or international level
