EAIE-L is the name of the SURFnet e-mail discussion list of the EAIE, where subscribers can exchange information and ask each other questions on the internationalisation of higher education. The list has currently more than 2000 subscribers.

Prepare to send an e-mail message to listserv@nic.surfnet.nl but leave the subject line of your mail blank.Write the following message:
SUBSCRIBE EAIE-L YourFirstName YourLastName, Institution, Country
Send the message

After having sent your message you will receive an e-mail message in return with the confirmation of your subscription and a series of instructions on how to make the best use of the list. From now on you will receive all the messages that circulate on the EAIE-L discussion list.

How do I send a message?



Address an e-mail message to EAIE-L@nic.surfnet.nl. Always use one of the following topics in the subject line of your message:

ALL:Messages intended for all list subscribers

How do I update my subscription?

Prepare to send an e-mail message to EAIE-L-request@NIC.SURFNET.NL
Write UPDATE EAIE-L subscription in the subject line of your mail. Write the following message:
DELete EAIE-L Your old email address
ADD EAIE-L Your new email address, Your Name, Your Institute, Your Country

How can I stop or reduce incoming messages from EAIE-L without unsubscribing

set eaie-l topics:(your choice of topic or topics) If you send an e-mail to listserv@nic.surfnet.nl with for example:
SET EAIE-L TOPICS: SAFSA
you will ONLY receive messages with have the SAFSA topic.

If you send an e-mail to listserv@nic.surfnet.nl with for example:
SET EAIE-L TOPICS: ALL -SAFSA
you will receive all messages posted on the EAIE-L EXCEPT the ones that have the SAFSA topic.
set eaie-l nomail If you send an e-mail to listserv@nic.surfnet.nl with this command in the body of your message, you will cancel all incoming mail from EAIE-L until you instruct Listserv to resume sending you mail.
set eaie-l mail With this command you instruct Listserv to resume sending you mail.
set eaie-l digest With this command you tell Listserv to send you a daily 'digest' of all EAIE-L postings instead of each message separately.
You will be able to retrieve the full posting from the EAIE-L archives later.
set eaie-l nodigest With this command you tell Listserv to resume sending you separate messages.
set eaie-l index With this command you tell Listserv to send you a daily 'digest' that has only the 'Subject' lines of each message, rather than the full text of the message. Instructions are also provided for getting the full text of a message, if you want to see it later.
set eaie-l noindex With this command you tell Listserv to resume sending you the full text of messages.

How can I search the EAIE-L archive?

All messages posted on EAIE-L since December 1993 are archived at this location. You can search by subject, author and date.

How do I unsubscribe?



Address an e-mail message to listserv@nic.surfnet.nl
Leave the subject line of your mail blank
Write the following message:
UNSUBSCRIBE EAIE-L
You need not put your name or institution.
Listserv will recognise your e-mail address and remove you from the list of subscribers. If your e-mail address has changed since you subscribed to EAIE-L, then Listserv will not 'recognise' your unsubscribe command (even if you are still receiving mail via EAIE-L). In this case please consult the listowner.
